The Genesis: A Cross-Cultural Foundation

 

My story begins in Los Angeles, California, yet my foundation was poured during my formative years spent in the Philippines. This unique cross-cultural experience, where Tagalog remains my native tongue despite my cringy American accent, taught me early lessons in adaptability and deep interpersonal communication.

As the oldest of eight siblings and the fourth oldest in a line of sixteen cousins, I was given leadership training early. Growing up with my own miniature army, I cherished the responsibility of caring for my younger siblings. This familial role instilled in me a people-first philosophy—a deep understanding that true leadership is built on care, communal responsibility, and a fierce dedication to the well-being of the entire group.

 

The Dual Path: Artistry and The Digital Frontier

 

My youthful obsession was storytelling, fueled by film, theater, dance, and a romanticized vision of being a traditional artist. Yet, like most Millennials in the 90s, I found my true calling surfing the web.

My technical journey began in 3rd grade as a computer lab assistant, where the simple act of using "ctrl+alt+del" to restart a frozen machine unlocked an insatiable curiosity. As technology evolved, I kept pace: learning new software, browsing the cutting edge of the web, and even running a side hustle bartering for PC parts and burning CDs. My natural competitive nature, honed by constantly playing games with my brother—from chess to Nintendo—didn't just make me decent at gaming; it trained me to rapidly learn from failure and strategize for victory.

This dual fascination with creative narrative and technical mastery launched me into the nascent world of video production and competitive gaming.

 

The Evolution: From Creative Production to Technical Authority

 

My first career phase was a rapid ascent. Starting as a production intern, I quickly gained niche technical skills in graphic design and video editing, propelling me into red carpet events and major competitive gaming leagues. This exposure led to my dream role as a Game Producer, where I found my true calling: combining creative arts with intimate technical knowledge to visualize complex processes and weave clarity through the chaos across different development disciplines.

I thrived, but soon hit a ceiling rooted in my past—the lack of a formal Computer Science background. Struggling with the grief of pregnancy loss and pushing through infertility treatments, I knew I had to seize a final opportunity. I made the decision to go back to school to learn how to code.

Before even finishing my full-stack web development bootcamp, I landed an entry-level engineering job. This gave me invaluable experience building applications and solutions for clients spanning diverse sectors—from Agriculture and Military to Health and Finance, including SaaS for IoT and systems utilizing AI/ML.

Armed with fresh, battle-tested experience as a developer, I answered the call of project management once again, returning as a lethal combination: a manager with the intimate technical knowledge of an engineer.

 

The Mission: Conviction and the World We Build

 

Having mastered the software delivery cycle and gained industry certifications, I am now hungry to return to the world of development at a Senior Level. I aim to attack complex technical projects, solving problems with unparalleled collaboration and efficiency by utilizing my experience to design and architect workflows that streamline production for all cross-functional departments. While I still passionately create digital media—governed by my philosophy: Score Points. Collect Coins. Be the Princess.—this is now an outlet to constantly hone my skills and feed the restless curiosity shared by engineers and artists alike.

Today, as a mother to a five-year-old boy—a gift I still don't take for granted—my calling is higher than ever. It's not just about providing; it's about creating a life where we can thrive. My compass is pointed toward a role that is fulfilling, meaningful, and impactful, allowing me to be proud of the work I show my son.

I take seriously the responsibility of our generation, which grew up on the keyboard. It is up to my peers and me to uphold the highest standards in the applications we produce and the quality we demand. We must work together to ensure that the world we leave behind for our children—both digital and physical—is one that increases their quality of life, not hinders it.

I am in a position in my life where I am not only ready to take on this mission, but hungry for the opportunity to seize it.
